Edison screw lampholders
IEC 60238:2016+A1:2017+A1:2020 applies to lampholders with Edison thread E14, E27 and E40, designed for connection to the supply of lamps and semi-luminaires only. It also applies to switched-lampholders for use in AC circuits only, where the working voltage does not exceed 250 V r.m.s. This ninth edition cancels and replaces the eighth edition published in 2004, Amendment 1: 2008 and Amendment 2:2011. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
a) Addition of a pull test for certain E5 and E10 lampholders.
b) Annex D listing amended requirements/clauses which require products to be retested. The contents of the corrigendum of January 2018 have been included in this copy. This consolidated version consists of the ninth edition (2016), its amendment 1 (2017) and its amendment 2 (2020). Therefore, no need to order amendment in addition to this publication.
