3. Pre-ordering information

May I share IEC publications with my colleagues?

You can cost-effectively share electronic versions of IEC publications on your company or organization's computer network. Simply multiply the price of the IEC publication according to the relevant factor. Choose between multiple workstations and networking with simultaneous users. There are also national and international (two or more countries) licences.

Orders made via the IEC Webstore are set for networking with simultaneous users national licences only.

What are your rights? You can preview a copy of the licence here.

  • The publication is stored on an internal network and its access is monitored to limit the access to the chosen number of simultaneous users.
  • It is permitted to make hard copies of each publication, up to the specified number of users.
  • Example for a simultaneous licence for up to 5 users: any 5 users at a time may access the publication, you may print up to 5 copies of the publication.

For example IEC 61508-1 has a price of CHF 280.-.
For up to and including 5 users on a national basis, the price would be 280.- x 2.5 = CHF 700.- (the equivalent of CHF 140.- per user).

For example IEC 61508-1 has a price of CHF 280.-.
For up to and including 5 users on an international basis, the price would be 280.- x 3.5 = CHF 980.- (the equivalent of CHF 196.- per user).

To purchase an international networking licence please contact the Customer Service Centre, specifying what publications you are interested in and for how many users they would be for.

  • The publication has to be stored on a fixed number of workstations.
  • It is permitted to make hard copies of each publication, up to the specified number of workstations.
  • Example for a workstation licence for up to 3 workstations: the publication can be stored on a maximum of 3 different workstations, you may print up to 3 copies of the publication.

For up to and including 5 workstations on a national basis, the price would be 280.- x 1.6 = CHF 448.- (the equivalent of CHF 90.- per workstation).
